Adenomyosis awareness month is April, so lets shout out about it and keep that energy going beyond April.

Adenomyosis is a condition in which the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus (the myometrium). Adenomyosis can cause menstrual cramps, lower abdominal pressure, and bloating before menstrual periods and can result in heavy periods.
Unknown why adenomyosis happens, but it is likely that women with adenomyosis have a predisposition due to their genes, immune system and hormones. It is benign ( not cancerous).
Causes:
invasive tissue growth
Developmental origins
Uterine inflammation related to childbirth.
Symptoms:
Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding.
Severe cramping or sharp, knifelike pelvic pain during menstruation (dysmenorrhea)
Painful intercourse (dyspareunia)
Enlarged uterus
Constipation
Anemia
Treatment:
Anti-inflammatory drug
Hormone medications
Hysterectomy
Uterine artery embolisation
